In the late 19th century, Charles Darwin set out to study the various phenomena associated with human emotions. These results support the belief that many of these behaviors are, in fact, hereditary. A significant result of Darwin's research is interesting in its relationship to kinesic behavior. Darwin determined that “repressed emotion almost always comes to the surface in some form of body motion” (Darwin, 1872; Darwin and Ekman, 1998).

The observer should make his analysis based on the behaviors that succeed each new stimulus applied to the subject being interviewed.
